Organic Honey from Merano and Environs

Organic honey that is gently treated with traditional processing methods, not only tastes good, it also boosts the immune system, supports the bodies efficiencies as well as the bodies well being. On the extended meadows of Merano and its environs, open country sides and forests offer bees an impressive variety of blossoms, therefore mainly two kinds of honey, the Blossom Honey and the Forest Honey, are produced. There are 130 beekeepers that take care of the regions honey extraction, all of which have the South Tyrolean Certificate of Quality. Only when the terms of cleanliness, hygiene and cool storage are met and heat damage during the liquefaction process is avoided, the honey receives the South Tyrolean Certificate of Quality.

Blossom Honey
South Tyrolean’s Blossom Honey is coloured a light yellow and smells like fresh blossoms and flowers. It has fragrances of fresh wax, fruit and rose leafs. Along with glucose and fructose, Blossom Honey contains minerals, trace elements, amino acids and vitamins.

Forest Honey
South Tyrolean’s Forest Honey shows a dark redish-brown colouring and has a hearty taste of wax, resin and sometimes even a hint of chocolate.
Forest Honey also contains glucose and fructose, along with minerals, trace elements, amino acids and vitamins.
